Taxes need to be a top priority, finding ways to maintain or better the serves that we have without increasing the burden to our residents. Taxes are too high we need to find new ways to control tax increases. Some of the nice to have items could possiblily be realized by inviting partnerships not only with surrounding communities but with individuals, organizations and corporations. Much like the Friendship Trail was first developed. Working with surrounding communities and organizations will be more important than ever. We should also aggressively work towards attracting more industry to increase the business tax base and increase job opportunities. Should cuts be needed it could be possible to set up an adhoc committee with community representation to help council decide where residents might tolerate cuts in services at least until provincial and federal funds flow and our economy bounces back ensuring that our taxes are reduced or at the very minimum have a 0% increase.
